Robert Gene Beghtol Obituary

Funeral services for Robert Gene Beghtol, 26, of 5713 West Sixty-second avenue, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Arvada Presbyterian church. Rev. Melvin Kessinger of the Wellshire Presbyterian church, officiated at the services which were in charge of Albers Funeral Home.

Burial was in the Arvada cemetery.

Beghtol, a member of the Arvada Police department, drowned while participating in a scuba diving training exercise with members of the local police department last Friday afternoon.

He was born on April 20, 1935, in Arvada and attended Arvada schools. He was married to the former Mary L. Bartels.

Beghtol had been a member of the local police department for about two and one-half years. His grandfather, Lee Beghtol, was the first uniformed policeman to serve full-time on the Arvada police force.

Surviving, besides his wife, are four children: Robert, Richard, Rodger, and Rodney, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beghtol of Brush, Colorado; a sister, Mrs. Betty Poltz of Fort Morgan; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Beghtol of Arvada.
