Sex Offender Registry
Sex Offenders / Sexually Violent Predator Mandatory Notifications
The Colorado sex offender registry includes only persons legally required to register and comply with the sex offender registration laws. Persons should not rely solely on the sex offender registry as a safeguard against perpetrators of sexual assault in their communities. The crime for which a person is convicted may not accurately reflect the level of risk. Some adults, including those convicted of only one misdemeanor offense, are omitted from the website under state law. Juvenile offenders and one-time misdemeanor offenders are available at the police department. Offenders who have failed to register are not listed; please visit the Colorado Bureau of Investigations website for a list of "failed-to-register" persons.
Sexual crime can be a severely traumatizing event, leading to life-altering consequences for the victim. Colorado Law (Article 16, Title 22 CRS) requires persons convicted of certain sex crimes to register with the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction where they reside.

SOTAR (Sex Offender Tracking & Registration)
The City of Arvada has joined over 80 participating law enforcement agencies using a Unified Sex Offender Registry System, SOTAR. SOTAR is a convenient tool that allows residents to search for sex offenders registered in Arvada, and all other participating agencies, from a single website.
SOTAR is a convenient tool that allows residents to view offenders. State law prohibits the online posting of juvenile offenders and some adults, including those convicted of only one misdemeanor. Offenders who have failed to register may be listed here; the Colorado Bureau of Investigation also lists them.
