Animal Management Unit
Arvada Animal Management is a unit of the Arvada Police Department. Animal Management enforces all City ordinances related to animals. Arvada Animal Management Officers are highly trained and experienced professionals, certified through the Colorado Association of Animal Control Officers.

Internal Affairs
Citizens can bring any issue to the Arvada Police Department, including suggestions and complaints. The Internal Affairs Unit is responsible for examining and investigating allegations of employee misconduct. They are also available to answer questions regarding police services, procedures, and department issues.

Records & Evidence Units
The Arvada Police Department Records Unit has the responsibility for maintaining and releasing criminal justice records to the public, other law enforcement agencies, and insurance companies.

School Resource Officers
School Resource Officers (SROs) act as a liaison between the police department, school, and community. It is their mission to provide a safe and secure environment where students can thrive. SROs mentor students and present information in the classroom. They also meet with parents and teachers. SROs are often role models for students, giving them sound advice and encouraging feelings of self-worth.

Arvada Fire Protection District
The Arvada Fire Protection District (AFPD) is independent. They are not run by the City of Arvada. The AFPD serves the City through an intergovernmental agreement. They provide fire protection, emergency medical, and other services.

Arvada Police Department is proud to contract with Victim Outreach, Inc. to provide victim assistance in our community. Their Mission is to promote the healing of people impacted by crime and trauma.
