You can learn more about your Arvada Police Department by attending the Arvada Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy (CPA).
CPA instructors include police officers and other police department employees. Classes include topics related to patrol, DUI enforcement, school resource officers, special investigations, mental health, body worn cameras and more!
Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 5:30-8:30 pm August 10 through October 26, 2023

Applying to the Citizen's Police Academy
To ensure acceptance in the Arvada Police Citizen Police Academy, please complete the following application and registration process:
- Application - Classes have already begun, but you can still complete the 2023 Citizen's Police Academy Application form to be added to the waitlist.
- Letter of Acceptance - Once your application has been processed and accepted, you will be sent a Letter of Acceptance. This letter will provide you with the beginning date, time, and location of the first class.
- Participant's Permit/Promise to Release - Along with the letter of acceptance, you will receive the "Participant's Permit/Promise to Release" form. You will need to thoroughly read this form, date and sign it, and bring it with you to the first night of the class.
