You can expect work to begin within the next few days. Occasionally work is delayed due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If signs are left behind or work does not begin as expected please contact the program at 720-898-7723 or [email protected] for an update.
The City uses a data-driven approach to prioritize roads using a pavement management software called RoadMatrix. The tool helps assess pavement quality by looking at 3 criteria:
Every road in Arvada is assessed every 3 years. From this information areas are prioritized based on the type of work. Some roads receive maintenance like sealing cracks to maintain their quality. Other roads that have fallen into disrepair require more intensive work like reconstruction. Reconstructing roads is cost intensive. While many of our older roads need this intensive work, the most traveled roads are often prioritized to help the dollars have greater impact for the traveling public.
Concrete Replacement is only addressed through the pavement program in areas where asphalt work is planned and the existing curb ramps do not meet ADA standards.
Sidewalk, curb and gutter maintenance are the property owner’s responsibility. Please visit the sidewalk maintenance page for more information.
